Just as one can easily crush a wasp between one’s fingernails, so in the same way, the body of the wasp-like demon Hiranyakasipu has been ripped apart by the wonderful pointed nails on Your beautiful lotus hands.

A grand arati is performed to the accompaniment of the Gaura Arati, a song composed by Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura. After the arati, the Deities are bathed in a Grand Abhishek with ghee, milk, yogurt, juices, and sanctified water.
There will be a cultural show which comprises dance and drama about the pastimes and glories of Sri Nṛsiḿha Bhagavan enacted by the devotees of ISKM Singapore.
The day’s celebrations end with the distribution of sumptuous ekadasi prasadam.

FASTING TILL DUSK – 07:29PM
Devotees are advised to fast from grains and water till moonrise on this most auspicious day of Sri Nṛsiḿha Caturdasi.
Devotees break their fast at sunset (7:29 pm) with Anukalpa Prasadam (grain-free items).

Sri Nṛsiḿha Bhagavan
The Half-man Half-lion incarnation of the Lord
Sri Nṛsiḿha Caturdasi is the appearance day of Lord Nṛsiḿha, the half-lion half-man incarnation of Supreme Lord Krishna, who appeared to protect Prahlada from his demoniac father Hiranyakashipu.
Hiranyakashipu received a special benediction from Lord Brahma that he could not be killed by any human being, demigod, or animal or any other entities; he could not be killed by any kind of weapons, neither during day nor night. So, the Lord appeared in half-man half-lion form and killed him with His nails at twilight, thus satisfying all the conditions.
Nṛsiḿhadeva appeared at dusk on the Shukla Chaturdashi (fourteenth day of the bright fortnight) in the month of Vaishakha (May). Devotees fast till dusk on this day.
