Hare Krishna!

We would like to thank all the devotees, well-wishers and friends out there who have contributed for this noble Temple Building Project that we have undertaken. We are very pleased to see that there are so many people who ardently want to see a permanent Hare Krishna temple in Singapore.

We have started donations on a serious note in April 2012. We started with $30,000 and now in 6 months’ time, we have touched the $200,000-mark. All this was possible by the generous devotional contributions in the way of sqft-sponsorships, memberships and other outright donations.

At the same time we would like to remind you that there is still a very long way to go to reach the goal of $5 million.

Lord Krishna is not poor that He requires our donations to build His temple. He says in the Bhagavad Gita that He is the proprietor of all the planets in the universe. What is a piece of 18,000-sqft of land for Him? He can give it to us even now. As Lord Krishna says in the Bhagavad Gita: ye yatha mam prapadyante tams tathaiva bhajamy aham – The Lord rewards us proportionately to our surrender. The more the people are eager to see a temple for Krishna, the more He is ready to give it to us.

So our humble request to you all is that please keep contributing generously for this project and refer as many people to this project as possible. In this way, by the sincere endeavor of all concerned, Lord Krishna will definitely be pleased and will want to grant our great desire to build this temple where His pure message will be actively spread to the public at large, this relieving them from the material mire.

Everyone must understand that whatever material assets one possesses are all temporary and will not stay for long. So before they are gone, it is better to use them in Krishna’s service so that the returns are permanent. This is confirmed in the Bhagavad Gita: nehabhikrama naso ‘sti pratyavayo na vidyate – in this endeavor of devotional service to Krishna, there is no loss or diminution. The result is permanent. Getting a permanent benefit in exchange for a temporary asset is real good deal. So please contribute generously and relentlessly and refer this project to your near and dear and let them also become fortunate by contributing to this great noble cause.

Thank you once again.

Yours in the service of Lord Sri Krishna,

Sri Krishna Mandir Management Committee
