Festival Details

The divine appearance day of Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī, the eternal consort of Lord Kṛṣṇa, is a very special day for all the Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇavas. Among all of Kṛṣṇa’s consorts in Śrī Vṛndāvana, Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī is the greatest.

devī kṛṣṇa-mayī proktā

rādhikā para-devatā

sarva-lakṣmī-mayī sarva-

kāntiḥ sammohinī parā

The transcendental goddess Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī is the direct counterpart of Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa. She is the central figure for all the goddesses of fortune. She possesses all the attractiveness to attract the all-attractive Personality of Godhead. She is the primeval internal potency of the Lord.

Śrī Rādhāṣtamī honors the divine appearance day of Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī, the eternal consort of Śrī Kṛṣṇa. It is a very significant festival for Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇavas. Rādhārāṇī is the mother of the entire universe and on this auspicious day devotees pray to Her to bless them with Kṛṣṇa-bhakti. This festival provides devotees with the special opportunity to glorify Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī, under whose care one can attain perfection in devotional service.
